San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings ended up in a wild altercation with Carolina Panthers defensive back Tre’von Moehrig following the final whistle on Monday Night Football.

Shortly after the 49ers’ 20-9 win over the Panthers, Jennings, a former Tennessee Vols standout, aggressively went after Moehrig.

Jennings’ teammates eventually had to tackle him to keep him away from Moehrig.

Why Jauan Jennings went after Tre’von Moehrig

Jennings didn’t just randomly go after Moehrig. The incident was in response to Jennings taking a low blow from Moehrig during the game.

“Man, TV (is) going to tell you what happened, man,” said Jennings after the game. “I was just responding to me some childish behavior. That’s all it was.”

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was a little more candid with his comments about the altercation.

“The guy took a cheap shot and hit him in the b—-,” said Shanahan. “I was real proud of Jauan for not losing his mind out there.”

We’ll see if the NFL hands down any discipline to either player for the post-game incident.
