Bills’ Sean McDermott gives the news that fans have been desperately waiting for
Sean McDermott gave fans a big reason to celebrate with latest injury update.
The Buffalo Bills are coming off one of the most exciting games of the season, a fourth-quarter comeback against quarterback Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14.
No. 17 makes history in the win over the Bengals
Once again, quarterback Josh Allen put on his Superman cape and led the team to victory, making history along the way. He became the first player in NFL history with three seasons of more than 20 passing touchdowns and more than 10 rushing touchdowns.
It’s been a party in Western New York since, with the team giving fans an extra win considering the playoff implications from the victory. Bills Mafia is finally getting what appears to be the news they’ve been waiting for: the Bills are getting healthy.
While Buffalo won, there were a handful of players who the team was missing due to injury. It seems as though the injury luck might be turning in Buffalo’s favor, as a handful of players are progressing in the right direction ahead of a critical matchup against the New England Patriots.
Some good news on multiple key playmakers
Bills coach Sean McDermott announced that defensive end Joey Bosa, wide receiver Josh Palmer, offensive tackle Spencer Brown, and linebacker Terrel Bernard are improving, and that it’ll be one day at a time during the week.
McDermott said, “I believe there is,” when asked about Bosa’s chances to play Sunday.
The defense would get a huge boost in getting back Bosa, who has been generating pressure at a high clip during the 2025 season. Bosa has been one of the best offseason acquisitions, and his importance on the field cannot be overstated. At one point in the season, Bosa was leading the league in pressure percentage and tied for seventh in pressures.
Cole Bishop and Dalton Kincaid are good to go
One of the scary moments in the team’s win over the Bengals was when safety Cole Bishop went down with an injury and couldn’t return. McDermott said that he should be OK after dealing with some cramping. Another huge boost for the defense as Bishop has also stepped up his game in 2025. After the addition of veteran safety Jordan Poyer, Bishop has come alive.
Perhaps the biggest news of the day, though, came with the update regarding tight end Dalton Kincaid. McDermott’s update was a welcome one for a player who’s often been injured.
“From what I could tell, and talking with Nate, our trainer, no concerns about Dalton moving forward coming off that game,” McDermott said. “He was in a good space yesterday.”
Kincaid was questionable for the contest with hamstring and knee injuries, but ultimately played, even finding the end zone during the victory. Kincaid has been Allen’s top weapon, and the duo is lethal when they connect. A healthy Kincaid is terrifying for the rest of the league.
With the playoff race tightening by the minute, Buffalo couldn’t have asked for better timing. Key contributors are heading toward full health at the perfect time, Allen is playing like an MVP, and the Bills have some momentum heading into a huge AFC East showdown.
