Howie Roseman is at the helm of an offensive coordinator search right now for the Philadelphia Eagles. There is an intriguing name that many fans think makes sense, and he could be the right man for the job after being a recent rival.

Brian Daboll is taking his next step toward being a final candidate in this race to be Kevin Patullo’s replacement at OC for the Eagles, via the latest update on their coaching search.

Eagles interview former Giants head coach Brian Daboll for open offensive coordinator position

According to Dianna Russini, the Eagles are interviewing former Giants HC Brian Daboll on Tuesday. Daboll was fired by New York during the season but has plenty of experience at both the NFL and college level on the offensive side of the ball.

Daboll is expected to get long looks all over the NFL when it comes to OC openings. He is even receiving some head coaching interest, although a landing spot as a coordinator/play caller may be more likely and better for both sides as of now.

Philadelphia already has ties to Daboll as well when it comes to the front office and the roster, both.

“Additionally, there are plenty of links to both Nick Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman. Sirianni and Daboll worked together with the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2012, when Daboll was the offensive coordinator and Sirianni was the wide receivers coach. When Sirianni was hired as head coach of the Eagles, he credited Daboll as “one of his biggest mentors” from their time together in Kansas City. Daboll also shares an agent, Bob LaMonte, with Howie Roseman, something that could be a potential explanation for why teams felt that way regarding the mutual interest this offseason.”

We will see if the Eagles decide that Daboll is their top candidate fairly soon most likely. As more head coaching decisions come to fruition around the league, it may get a bit clearer when it comes to available OC candidates for Howie Roseman’s team.
