Bengals make their interest known in under-the-radar NFL Draft prospect they’ve already coached earlier this year
Cincinnati checked back in on Navy defensive tackle Landon Robinson at his pro day.
The pro day circuit is starting back up again with the 2026 NFL Draft under two months away, and the Cincinnati Bengals are on the road putting finishing touches on scouting reports for players they may be interested in drafting.
One of those players is Navy defensive tackle Landon Robinson, who was the featured player for the Midshipmen’s pro day on Thursday. Cincinnati was one of 20 teams to attend Navy’s pro day.
But this isn’t just a point of contact for the Bengals, it’s a repeated point of contact.
Bengals keeping tabs on Navy DT Landon Robinson
Robinson has been busy this pre-draft cycle. While he wasn’t invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, he did participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl back in January.
Cincinnati defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery was Robinson’s position coach that week, and Montgomery got a good look at the 2025 American Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
Robinson was a Shrine Bowl participant and had the majority of the NFL watching him work out for good reason. He had his best year for the Midshipmen last season, racking up 64 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks on his way to earning his impressive accolade for the program.
Pro days are important as position coaches for interested teams can conduct the player’s workout and meet with them afterwards. Montgomery already got that experience over a month ago, and with the Bengals showing up for his pro day, they clearly liked what Montgomery had to say about him.
Robinson is very much undersized at 5-11 and 291 pounds, but his arm length (31.625″) and wingspan (76.75″) are each longer than Peter Woods, who’s considered a potential first-round selection. Robinson will hope to be drafted on Day 3 when Cincinnati has four picks in the final two rounds.
It’s very clear the Bengals have interest in the one Navy player with an NFL future this year.
