The list goes on and on. Baltimore is now hoping to put their disappointing 2025 season fully into the rear view mirror. And they’ll do so as several players try to get back on the proverbial horse this season. Perhaps the best story of the group isn’t ready to rock and roll just yet — but he’s reportedly getting close.
Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike lands on PUP list but is cleared for a return to football
Ravens defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike is, when healthy, one of the most disruptive interior defensive linemen in all of football. His absence last season was certainly one of the biggest influences around the Ravens’ poor defensive showing in 2025. An injury is one thing — but the lack of answers and swirling rumors only seemed to make Madubuike’s situation feel that much more ominous. Former head coach John Harbaugh refused to dive into the details around the injury given the severity of the situation.
All questions appear to be answered now. And while Madubuike won’t be strapping up with the rest of the Ravens team for the first practice, he’s close. Jeff Zrebiec has reported that the defensive tackle has been cleared by “independent spine & cervical doctors”. He’ll be back “as early as next week”, per Zrebiec.
As the Baltimore Ravens look to bounce back this season, it certainly sounds like they’ll be doing it with one of the most extreme comeback stories in the league on their side. That’s great news after a worrisome year for Madubuike. And it’s great news for the Ravens’ pass rush, too.
