Las Vegas Raiders DT Thomas Booker details just how beneficial it’s been to have Maxx Crosby back for training camp
The Las Vegas Raiders were without Maxx Crosby as a full participant for some time. But he’s been thriving at training camp.
The Las Vegas Raiders nearly traded away their franchise cornerstone player who’s the face of the franchise. In fact, the trade was agreed to, but the Baltimore Ravens ultimately backed out due to a “failed physical.”
That failure that Baltimore felt was severe enough to back out has already been shown not necessarily to be true. Well, we will have to see how his career goes before we can decide that. But the Raiders already have Crosby back at full health. He’s a full participant in training camp, and his teammates have already noticed a difference.

“Yeah, I mean, I think the thing that you look at with Maxx is just aggression,” Thomas Booker told reporters this week. “He sets the tempo in terms of aggression. He’s gonna let you know about it. And that entire feeling kind of pervades the defensive line. So, having him back out there after him not being there for OTAs has been amazing.
“Whether it’s him leading in drills or him in a team period blowing a run up. He’s just letting you know, like, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t dominate every play, and that’s been the case. So, we appreciate having him out there and him setting the standards.”
Maxx Crosby is truly elite. No other player matches his relentless effort and ability to dominate against both the run and the pass. His commitment carries over into every practice. As the Raiders and the rest of the league go through training camp, having someone like Crosby on the field raises everyone’s game.
It’s easy to see how his presence could make life especially tough for the offense—and for a first-year head coach like Klint Kubiak. Even in an injury-riddled 2025 season, with 15 games played, Crosby played well. He finished with 10 sacks and a career-high 28 tackles for loss. He still has a lot left in the tank. And training camp is proving that.
