Vol fans had eyes on David Gabriel Georges, but another Tennessee commit pulled off a huge play in the game
Future Tennessee standouts had a big night in Chattanooga.
The Tennessee Vols’ 2027 recruiting class might not be the highest ranked, but there are some very bright stars in it, without question.
The brightest and most followed of them all is Chattanooga RB David Gabriel Georges, who faced off against two of his fellow future Tennessee teammates when Baylor faced Brentwood Academy on Thursday night on national TV.
Naturally, Gabriel Georges got the lion’s share of attention, and he certainly earned it. He totaled 250+ yards from scrimmage with three touchdowns, making some electrifying plays along the way.
However, Brentwood Academy and Tennessee commit Kesean Bowman got loose for an 80-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to draw the game tight once again.
Tennessee 2027 commit WR Kesean Bowman had an 80-yard touchdown in Brentwood Academy’s showdown with David Gabriel Georges and Chattanooga Baylor
Bowman is a playmaker with good top-end speed, and he didn’t even need to use it there. He took a stutter step and went down the field, and for some reason, the safety crashed down and left Bowman as wide open as he could possibly be, and it was an easy race to the end zone.
While Gabriel Georges has been the center of attention of Tennessee’s class since his commitment, Bowman is a big get himself. Bowman checks in at No. 60 overall, No. 10 wide receiver, and No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee for the 2027 cycle in 247 Sports’ composite rankings. He holds offers from Alabama, Oregon, Georgia, Florida, LSU, and many other notable programs.
The Vols have a lot of young talent at the wide receiver position right now, and that talent base will continue to get better and deeper next year when Bowman arrives in Knoxville.
