Vols fans are happy to hear that one item that won’t be making the trip with Tennessee to Columbia this weekend
The Tennessee Volunteers are making the trip to Columbia this weekend for a matchup against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Tennessee is set to face South Carolina in Columbia on Saturday afternoon.
This will be the Vols’ first trip to Williams-Brice Stadium since Tennessee’s loss to the Gamecocks in 2022.
South Carolina’s upset over Tennessee has become part of college football lore for several reasons.
For one, everyone assumed the Vols were going to win in blowout fashion. Plus there are the allegations that South Carolina had Tennessee’s signals, and Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker tore his ACL that night.
And how could we forget Tennessee’s infamous orange helmets.
Tennessee debuted the orange helmets against South Carolina in 2022.
And they haven’t been seen since.

And fortunately for Vols fans, they won’t be seen this weekend.
Tennessee announced on Thursday that they’ll be wearing all white uniforms — including white helmets — against South Carolina.
Vols fans can rest easy knowing that the cursed orange helmets won’t be making an appearance in Columbia this weekend.
At this point, I don’t think we’re ever going to see them again. And the only person who is upset about that is former Tennessee wide receiver Bru McCoy, who once professed his love for the orange helmets.
