The Georgia Bulldogs hoped Anthony Evans III would be part of their replacement plan for Ladd McConkey, but the former track star is headed elsewhere. After spending two seasons with the Bulldogs, Evans entered the transfer portal and found a new home within two weeks.

On3's Hayes Fawcett reported Evans is headed to Mississippi State to play for Jeff Lebby.

The former 4-star receiver had his opportunities limited by injuries and the depth Georgia once boasted at the position. He caught only 13 passes for 124 yards and one touchdown, but added 17 punt returns for 129 yards.

A star in Class 6A triple jump, 200- and 100-meter sprints, Evans' body hasn't held up to its immense potential.

Evans' departure leaves Dillon Bell, London Humphreys, Sacovie White, Cole Speer, Walter Blanchard, Nitro Tuggle, and Jeremy Bell on the Bulldogs' depth chart. It wouldn't be surprising to see Georgia add one more player in the portal before too long.
