After a slow start in the 2026 recruiting class, Mike Brown and the Notre Dame staff really turned around wide receiver recruiting in a big way. It was a frustrating stretch dating back to the 2025 class, but finishing with a five-man class of Kaydon Finley, Brayden Robinson, Bubba Frazier, Dylan Faison, and Devin Fitzgerald is impressive.

The Fighting Irish staff now turns their full attention to the 2027 wide receiver class. It is a group filled with talent from all over, including a couple or areas that should be very positive for Notre Dame. Let’s take a look at the overall wide receiver board right now, and some of the early names to know most.

The name that Notre Dame fans are going to talk about most early on, and they should, is Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas star Julius Jones Jr., who is already one of the top pass catchers in the 2027 class. His name should sound familiar, his father having once been an outstanding running back for the Fighting Irish. There is definitely a lot of interest early from Jones, and Notre Dame values his abilities very highly.

Another early standout to know is Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel wideout Quentin Burrell. Quite simply, when there is a player from Chicago that Notre Dame really wants, they can’t let him leave the area. Burrell is a big boundary receiver at 6-3 and 195 pounds, and the Irish need more of that style of pass catcher. He is fresh off of a sophomore season where he hauled in 75 receptions for 1,257 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence North star Monshun Sales is going to be another pass catcher discussed a lot for obvious reasons. He is a five-star wide receiver from the state of Indiana, who also is 6-5 and 205 pounds. Sales is exactly the player that Notre Dame needs. Unfortunately, I don’t feel great about that one early on. Ohio State has made a huge impression so far, and it feels like the Buckeyes are the leader. They are a program hard to compete against for wide receiver recruits right now.

There is some legitimate buzz around Notre Dame right now, and that includes from this wide receiver group. Actualizing some of that excitement into on field production would go a long way toward sustaining that momentum.

Here are all the 2027 wide receivers that Notre Dame has offered.
