National analyst will need to apologize to the Packers later this year after his terrible 2022 prediction

The Herd’s Colin Cowherd made a comment this week about the Green Bay Packers that will likely haunt him later this season.

Cowherd, who hosts The Herd for Fox Sports, predicted this week that the Minnesota Vikings will win the NFC North in 2022. That’s not a surprising prediction — we’ve seen a lot of analysts/talking heads who have made similar predictions this offseason. Picking against the Packers seems to be the trendy thing to do with this offseason. Fair enough after losing wide receiver Davante Adams I guess.

It’s Cowherd’s reasoning that’s suspect.

He thinks the Vikings will win the NFC North because of all the close games they played last season. And because “the Packers won’t be good”.

To make things worse, former Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings seemingly agrees with Cowherd (when it comes to the Vikings winning the NFC North).

It’s completely insane to me that Cowherd thinks just because the Packers lost Adams that Green Bay won’t be good in 2022.

Last time I checked, the Packers still have Aaron Rogers — a future first-ballot Hall of Famer — starting at quarterback. And Rodgers is playing some of the best football of his career over the last two seasons (he’s won back-to-back MVP awards).

Cowherd is essentially saying he trusts Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins more than Rodgers. That’s probably not wise.

Packers fans won’t forget about Cowherd’s comments if Green Bay ends up winning their fourth straight NFC North division title in 2022. And they’ll probably have some words for Jennings, too.
