Maxx Crosby knows he’s a difference-maker.
He’s enjoyed another solid season as an edge rusher. And recently, he was nominated for the ninth annual Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
How it works is that each team around the NFL nominates one of its players who they feel exemplifies outstanding sportsmanship on the field. The Raiders selected Crosby because of his respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition.
Maxx Crosby won’t win DPOY, he doesn’t have the numbers, but if there was a “defensive MVP” it would probably be him pic.twitter.com/1sU8wwbxqC

To this point in the season, Crosby leads the Raiders in sacks (nine), solo tackles (42), tackles for loss (16), quarterback hits (16), and forced fumbles (two).

“These Rooney Sportsmanship Award nominees exemplify the fiercest competition combined with the excellence of sportsmanship,” Troy Vincent, EVP of Football Operations of the NFL, said in a press release. “It reflects the very values of respect, resilience, and fairness that inspire both teammates and opponents to be the best in the world.”
If there is anyone that deserves adulation on the Raiders, it has to be Crosby.
