Kentucky offensive lineman leaves no doubt how he feels about the Tennessee Vols’ defensive line
The Tennessee Vols will look to bounce back from their loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend when they travel to Lexington to take on the Kentucky Wildcats
The Tennessee Vols will look to bounce back from their 37-20 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide when they travel to Lexington this weekend for a matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats.
Tennessee is 4-0 against Kentucky during the Josh Heupel era. Three of those matchups, however, have been decided by 10 points or fewer — including both games in Lexington.
While the Vols have dominated the series against Kentucky under Heupel, a few of those matchups have been close late (Tennessee won 45-42 in 2021 in Lexington and they won 33-27 in 2023 in Lexington).
Kentucky offensive lineman shares his thoughts on the Tennessee Vols’ defensive line
Kentucky offensive lineman Josh Braun, who previously played for the Florida Gators and the Arkansas Razorbacks, was asked on Tuesday what stands out about Tennessee’s defense.
Braun was quick to praise the Volunteers’ defensive line for their physicality and speed.
“I mean, when you talk about the top D-lines in the SEC, Tennessee is always going to be in the conversation,” said Braun. “They play fast and physical. They’re going to jet up field all the time, and you just got to be ready for contact at your first step. And so really, you’ve got to have quicker foot speed and quicker hand striking across the board. That’s what Tennessee is known for, and we’re doing our best to prepare for that. And hopefully we can see what we can get done on Saturday.”
Tennessee’s defensive line has played at an elite level this season. They’ll need to have a big night on Saturday in Lexington in what could be a tougher than expected road game. The Wildcats haven’t been very good this season, but they’ll be up for this one — rivalry games tend to bring out the best in teams.
