Marshall Manning’s high school debut had Tennessee Vols fans seeing something very familiar
Marshall Manning, the son of Tennessee Vols legend Peyton Manning, made his high school debut on Friday night.
Marshall Manning, the son of Tennessee football legend Peyton Manning, made his high school debut for Baylor School (Chattanooga) on Friday night in a scrimmage against Buford.
And Vols fans saw some things that looked awfully familiar.
Marshall’s mechanics look just like Peyton’s. I mean, it’s uncanny.
Marshall, a high school freshman who is the backup to starter Keegan Croucher, got into the game late.
Marshall didn’t get a lot of action, but he did show off his skill set by rolling out and making an accurate throw on the move.
The throwing motion looks a lot like what we saw from Peyton for decades.
“I haven’t played [in front of] a bunch of fans like this like I did tonight,” said Marshall after the game. “But I mean, it just makes me better. And it was great to play under that.
“Just playing ball, having fun, having fun with my friends, being with my family, and just playing football,” added Marshall when asked what he’s looking forward to over the next four years at Baylor School.
Marshall, who is 15 years old, was originally part of the 2029 class, but he reclassified to the 2030 class.
