San Francisco Giants fans aren’t happy with Tony Vitello and it’s because of country music singer and diehard Vols fan Morgan Wallen
San Francisco Giants fans are growing inpatient with former Tennessee Volunteers baseball coach Tony Vitello, and country music singer Morgan Wallen isn’t helping matters.
Tony Vitello and the San Francisco Giants may have hit rock bottom on Friday night in Denver.
The Giants blew a three-run ninth inning lead against the Colorado Rockies, losing 8-6 on a tw0-run walk-off home run.
San Francisco is now 22-35. The only team with a worse record in the National League is Colorado.
Giants fans are growing frustrated with Tony Vitello, and Morgan Wallen isn’t helping matters
Many Giants fans, unsurprisingly, are already growing tired of the Vitello experiment. There were always going to be some growing pains for the former Tennessee Vols coach as he adjusts to life in the big leagues, but most fans are only interested in results.
Fans in San Francisco are even more frustrated with Vitello after hearing that he’s planning to hang out with country music singer and diehard Vols fan Morgan Wallen in Denver this weekend.
Wallen is playing a couple of concerts in Denver this weekend, so he and Vitello are hoping to hang out.
There’s obviously nothing wrong with Vitello hanging out with a friend early in the day before playing a night game against the Rockies on Saturday. It would essentially be like having breakfast with a buddy before clocking in for work.
But Giants fans don’t love the optics of the manager hanging out with one of the most famous singers in the country while the team is mired in a slump.
Who knows, maybe seeing a friendly face will lift Vitello’s spirits and change the vibes in the clubhouse. I’m sure it’s been a trying time for Vitello — he’s a competitive person and certainly hates that San Francisco is 13 games under .500.
But some fans just want managers and players to act like robots and only think about baseball, even though that’s not reality.
