Tennessee Vols fans are having a good laugh at the latest ridiculous revelation about LSU head coach Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin has been an absolute drama factory since the moment he stepped foot in Baton Rouge, and it all hit a crescendo just before the start of the season when he tried to roster former NFL players.

The fight to get those players on the roster nearly got LSU kicked out of the SEC. And it was all for naught as the SEC fought back and Kiffin eventually backed down.

It was a futile spectacle, but those are Kiffin’s favorite kinds.

Anyway, it appears the whole saga was spurred on by Kiffin’s misunderstanding of the legal system and what options were actually viable.

That’s because Kiffin, according to a recent story from ESPN, was relying on ChatGPT for legal advice.

Yes, a coach with a $13 million salary and unlimited resources behind him at LSU was using a chat box known for spewing inaccurate information.

You just can’t make this stuff up.

“Usually, when I would express an opinion about what LSU was doing, Lane would reply with a screenshot from ChatGPT that supported LSU’s position, which was almost always wrong,” said attorney Tom Mars to ESPN. “Lane ignored most of my unsolicited advice, but I don’t think he’ll be using ChatGPT anymore for legal advice.”

I don’t think it gets much more amateur than that. It’s no surprise that his ChatGPT-influenced fight against the SEC failed.

That wasn’t the only funny quip about Kiffin in ESPN’s story.

Kiffin also apparently responded to the recent criticism about him that came from excerpts of John Talty’s new book, “Lane Being Lane: The Story of Lane Kiffin, College Football’s Agent of Chaos.”

“I can save you $33 and lots of reading time by summing up the book this way,” said Kiffin in a text to Mars that was shared with ESPN. “Old unnamed sources say Lane used to argue with Saban, drink alcohol and hang out with hot women. New unnamed sources say Lane gets along with Saban, doesn’t drink alcohol, but still hangs out with hot women.”

Lane is still the same Lane that bolted on Tennessee in early 2010. He hasn’t changed a bit.

And that’s why Vols fans are getting a kick out of all of this. They know how this will end at LSU, and it won’t be pretty.
