Former Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh could be an in-demand name during this winter’s coaching carousel.
Former Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh is expected to receive quite a bit of interest during this winter’s coaching cycle.
Golesh, who is in his third season as the head coach at USF, has the Bulls off a 6-2 start this season, which includes a win against the Florida Gators in the Swamp.
The former Tennessee offensive coordinator is 20-14 through his first 34 games as a head coach.
Report says former Tennessee offensive coordinator Alex Golesh is drawing interest from Big 12 program
According to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman, Golesh is “drawing a lot of interest” from Oklahoma State.
“Golesh, we hear, also is drawing a lot of interest from Oklahoma State, where he spent a season as a grad assistant under Mike Gundy,” wrote Feldman.
Golesh served as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma State in 2008.
The Cowboys fired longtime head coach Mike Gundy earlier this season.
Feldman also listed Golesh as a potential candidate for the Auburn job (the Tigers fired Hugh Freeze on Sunday).
Golesh doesn’t seem like he’s in a hurry to leave USF (Tampa is a great place to live), but it could be tough for the former Tennessee play-caller to pass on a Power-4 head coaching job.
