Another Tennessee baseball transfer is staying in the SEC after announcing his next destination
Another Tennessee Vols baseball transfer has decided to stick around in the SEC, giving him the opportunity to be a thorn in the Volunteers’ side next season.
Another Tennessee Vols baseball transfer has decided to stick around in the SEC.
Earlier this week, Vols transfer infielder/outfielder Jay Abernathy committed to the Oklahoma Sooners after spending the first two seasons of his college career at Tennessee.
On Saturday, Vols sophomore transfer RHP Brayden Krenzel committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Krenzel entered the transfer portal after a tough 2026 season in which he went 2-3 with a 9.35 ERA. He was hit particularly hard in his final two appearance, giving up a combined seven earned runs in 2.1 innings against Texas and South Carolina.
Baseball, though, can be a fickle sport. Every player at some point in his career — even future Hall of Famers — will experience some ups and downs.
Krenzel was solid as a freshman in 2025, going 3-0 with a 4.68 ERA in 21 appearances. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Ohio native regain his form with a fresh start in Fayetteville.
