We know one of Jesse Minter’s goals for his Baltimore Ravens and it is an exceptionally high bar
The Baltimore Ravens’ standard in this area is exceptionally high under Jesse Minter.
The Baltimore Ravens are looking for a bounce-back season in 2026. With a coaching change and some seismic changes to the organization now in place, the focus now shifts to the response from the players.
If things go well, Baltimore will be well-positioned for a return to late January. They certainly aren’t lacking for talent. But one of new head coach Jesse Minter’s biggest keys to living up to their standard and expectations is going to be difficult to achieve — even if they’re laying the foundation to aim for it early in the offseason program. Minter wants his defense to be the best communicators the game has ever seen.

“You can’t play this game quietly, and you can’t play this game with doubt, and you can’t play this game without knowing what you’re doing. And so, I know from a defensive standpoint, we should be the loudest, most crazy, obnoxious, communicative unit in the history of football…it doesn’t matter if it’s the first play of the season against whoever, or in a game in December or in a game in February, that’s the standard of how we operate, and we lead ourselves to success in those moments if we operate like that all the time.”

We, of course, aren’t going to be able to easily measure this standard from Minter. But there’s saying that comes to mind here: ‘how you do anything is how you do everything’. And the Ravens? They’re looking to create that indoctrination of “as one” under Minter and ensure everyone is seeing, hearing, and anticipating the same things while sharing the field together. Whether or not Minter’s group achieves this goal remains to be seen. But you plant the seeds of such things in April and May. It sounds like things are well on their way, at least so far.
