Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Chris Brazzell didn’t take long to show everyone why general manager Dan Morgan was so excited to select the former Tennessee Vols standout in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Brazzell made an incredible play on the first day of training camp, and even though it resulted in an incomplete pass (thanks to a great play from defensive back Mike Jackson), the catch showed the elite skill set that Carolina is getting in the former Vol.

The Panthers were off on Monday before returning to action on Tuesday.

And for the second straight practice, Brazzell wasn’t on the field.

Panthers head coach Dave Canales told reporters on Sunday that Brazzell missed practice due to knee soreness.

It doesn’t sound like it’s anything major for Brazzell. The Panthers are most likely just being extra cautious with the rookie. There’s no need to push it with the start of the season still over a month away.

Brazzell played in 25 straight games for the Vols over the last two seasons, and he played in all 13 games as a redshirt freshman at Tulane in 2023. So he’s clearly not a guy who has struggled with injuries.

It’s worth keeping an eye on Brazzell’s knee, but it doesn’t seem to be anything that should concern fans at this point.
