It’s been a big week for Carolina Panthers star cornerback Jaycee Horn. Earlier this week, league executives and coaches ranked Horn as the No. 8 cornerback in the NFL going into the 2026 season, with one voter ranking him as high as No. 3.

One day later, Horn cracked the NFL’s Top-100 players list for the first time in his career, showing that his peers view him as one of the league’s best as well. Horn officially came in at No. 76 on the Top-100 list joining three other Panthers teammates (QB Bryce Young, DT Derrick Brown, and WR Tetairoa McMillan).

Just like yesterday, fans can argue for a higher spot for where Horn should have been ranked among the top players at his position and in the league. Truthfully, the number doesn’t matter as much as the words those in the league used to describe him.

NFL players explain why Jaycee Horn is among the top players in the NFL

In Jeremy Fowler’s rankings on ESPN, an unnamed veteran NFL offensive coach said that when you prepare to go against Horn, “you better be ready for a street fight” for the physical style that he plays with. It was a strong endorsement from a coach, but the comments from a player speaks even more volumes.

“I’ve went against Jaycee a few times. In terms of the physicality, that is something you don’t want to deal with,” New England Patriots new wide receiver Romeo Doubs explained.

Horn’s impact goes beyond just being a physical player. He’s also highly instinctive and highly athletic, which allows him to consistently make plays on the football as well. Horn was tied for the most interceptions (5) among cornerbacks last season while adding eight pass deflections. Some of those interceptions included some miraculous plays.

“Man, he had a ridiculous play against the 49ers,” former All-Pro cornerback Tre’Davious White explained. “He just read that play-action pass. He was able to push to the other side of the field. The quarterback never saw him.”

Young and Brown also highlighted Horn’s one-handed interceptions he recorded against the New York Jets as one of the more impressive plays they’ve ever seen.

Horn brings a rare blend of physicality, instincts, athleticism, and big-play ability to the table for the Panthers. And it’s not like the players in the league are just now catching onto this despite Horn just now making his NFL Top-100 debut.

“I mean, Jaycee, he’s been a premier corner in this league for a minute,” New England Patriots cornerback Marcus Jones said.

“This guy’s a freak man,” White added. “Like, he’s a hell of a player.”

He is truly an elite player and continues to be a shining star for this entire Panthers team.
