Carnell Tate has let out his true feelings on how he’d feel about teaming up with Shedeur Sanders on the Browns
Ohio State WR Carnell Tate is an option for the Cleveland Browns in today’s first round. The former Buckeye commented on that possibility.
The Cleveland Browns have a very important first round ahead of them in the 2026 NFL Draft this evening. Cleveland is set to pick at Nos. 6 and 24 in the first round with glaring needs at left tackle and wide receiver. There’s the possibility the Browns make a move ahead of their No. 6 pick.
Cleveland’s decision to go wideout early in the first would have them banking on an offensive tackle to be around later in the first and vice versa.
Ahead of the draft, Ohio State WR Carnell Tate has made a strong statement about Cleveland. Tate’s a popular player mocked to Cleveland at pick No. 6 during the draft process.
Carnell Tate sounds down to suit up with the Cleveland Browns
Tate was asked about how he would feel about teaming up with Shedeur Sanders in Cleveland if he were to be drafted there.
“I’m very excited,” Tate said. “Cleveland’s right up the street, so yeah.”
The location of being just a couple of hours away from Columbus where Tate has played the last three seasons at Ohio State would be a bonus to Tate. The former Buckeye is familiar with living in the state, knows what the Midwest weather brings as a Chicago native, and would be just a few hours from home.
Cleveland had Tate in for a top-30 visit, so they clearly have him in contention to be one of their draft picks. The 6-foot-2 Ohio State product said his visit to Cleveland went well.
“Cleveland is right up the street from us, an hour and a half, two-hour drive from the facility,” Tate said, via The Rich Eisen Show. “I was very comfortable. At this point in the process, it’s all about football, touring the facility, talking to the coaches, them getting a feel for your personality and you getting a feel for them. And in general, it’s also just talking football, them seeing how smart you are, your IQ as a football player.”
The Browns have a clear need at wideout and Tate would immediately give them a huge upgrade on the outside. We’ll see tonight if the Browns look to have him make the trip up Route 71, or if they’ll go in a different direction.
