2 possible Myles Garrett trade packages have been floated for the Cleveland Browns that the team would have to at least think about
Myles Garrett trade rumors are heating up with the month of June here. If the Cleveland Browns move him, it’ll be for an exciting package of picks and potentially a player.
The Cleveland Browns will be on the field next week for mandatory minicamp and all attention will be on whether Myles Garrett will be in attendance or not. That is if he’s still a member of the Browns.
With it being June 1 and how this offseason has gone with Garrett staying away from the team to this point, rumors of a trade happening are taking off. Cleveland and Garrett agreed to move his option bonus until closer to the season, which there was no real benefit to doing so besides keeping the door for a trade open.
A trade may or may not happen, but if it does the Browns are going to get a haul. Just how much the Browns get would be the question.
Pete Smith of the Orange and Brown Report recently put out a piece with four potential trade packages that the Browns could receive for Garrett. Below, I’m going to run through two of those packages that caught my eye.
Browns send Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams and get back a replacement starter
Browns get: EDGE Jared Verse, 2027 1st round pick, 2029 1st round pick
Rams get: EDGE Myles Garrett
Right away it’s clear the Browns get a starter for their defense who is a good player even if he isn’t to the level of Garrett. Verse is a former first-round pick out of Florida State who has 12 sacks in his first two seasons, including 7.5 sacks last season. A two-time Pro Bowler already who would help the fall off that would happen by the Browns trading Garrett.
It would be an all-in type of move for the Rams who have never been shy about trading draft picks. Los Angeles is going to be a good team and pick late in the next couple of years. The 2027 pick is going to be especially late, but the 2029 pick could be a bit earlier if Matthew Stafford has ridden off into the sunlight by then.
Philadelphia Eagles swing big with Myles Garrett trade their fans have long wanted
Browns get: Jalyx Hunt, 2027 1st round pick, 2027 1st round pick (Acquired in AJ Brown trade from Patriots), 2028 2nd round pick
Eagles get: EDGE Myles Garrett
Garrett has been connected to the Eagles as much as any team out there. Philadelphia is another team that isn’t afraid to take big swings with GM Howie Roseman, and they’re in the middle of a Super Bowl window. Adding the best defensive player in the NFL could potentially put the Eagles over the top. For the Browns, it would be tough to say no to the trade package.
The Eagles haven’t traded Brown yet to the Patriots but it seems all but a forgone conclusion that it’ll happen. Getting two 2027 first-round picks to have three in all would help the Browns speed up this rebuild in a big way. Three first-round picks in what is expected to be a strong 2027 draft class would be a big opportunity for Cleveland.
Getting Jaylx Hunt from the Eagles would give Cleveland a potential starter to fill in after he broke out with 6.5 sacks a season ago in Philadelphia. The former third-round pick started nine games for the Eagles last year and was impactful.
The plan since the Browns drafted Garrett and he became a dominant pass rusher was always for him to end his career in Cleveland. With how the team has fared in recent years, they’re in another rebuild, and moving Garrett has become a real possibility. Folks may not want to see it happen, but it very well could at any time.
