Lions to interview Seahawks passing game coordinator for their offensive coordinator job
Has a plethora of NFL and college coaching experience
Another day, another interview set up for the Detroit Lions in their search for their next offensive coordinator. So far, they’ve set up an interview with Washington Commanders quarterbacks coach David Blough, they’ve reached out to former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, and now they’re taking a look at the Seattle Seahawks coaching staff.
Lions to interview Seahawks passing game coordinator Jake Peetz for their open OC job
Peetz has been coaching since 2006 and has a plethora of experience in college and the NFL. He spent three years working with the Las Vegas Raiders’ offense in different jobs. He was a running backs coach and quarterback coach for the Carolina Panthers, and a pass game specialist for the Los Angeles Rams. In College he was on both the LSU and Alabama coaching staffs. If there were ever a guy who’s ready to take on the offensive coordinator role in the NFL, it’s this guy. We’ll see what happens.
Due to NFL rules, the Lions cannot talk to Peetz until after the Seahawks’ first playoff game. So that puts their timeline out a bit. The Seahawks don’t play until next week. If they win, it can only be a virtual interview.
