The Kansas City Chiefs will have WRs Xavier Worthy and Jalen Royals at practice in some capacity on Wednesday when work for Week 3’s tilt with the New York Giants begins.

It felt as if that’d be the case after the team released WR Hal Presley from the practice squad on Tuesday and after the latest NFL insider news from Sunday on Worthy. Chiefs HC Andy Reid officially confirmed to media members ahead of practice that Worthy and Royals would be back.

“Yeah, they’ll practice today,” Reid said.

Royals, who has missed a substantial amount of time with knee tendinitis, will be under the watchful eye of Coach Reid and Rick Burkholder.

“He’s coming (along) pretty good,” Reid said. “Yeah, we’ll just see how he does here. He’s been out for a while, so I’d like to see how he moves around.”

We’ll have to wait until after practice to see their participation, but Reid said neither Worthy nor Royals will have limitations.

Two Chiefs players won’t practice due to injuries from the Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles

Unfortunately, it wasn’t all good news from Chiefs HC Andy Reid’s latest injury update. Two players injured during Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles will not practice on Wednesday, per Reid.

“As far as the injuries go, Mike Danna won’t practice today, and (Kristian) Fulton won’t practice today,” Reid said.

Danna reportedly suffered a quad injury during the loss, while Fulton is dealing with an ankle injury that happened just a few plays into the game. Rookie DE Ashton Gillotte filled in for Danna in Week 2, while rookie CB Nohl Williams filled in for Fulton. If either Danna or Fulton is unable to go in Week 3 against the New York Giants, look for those two rookies to play an outsized role on defense.
