The Kansas City Chiefs have announced their inactive players ahead of their Week 4 tilt with the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.

LT Josh Simmons will be inactive for the fourth straight week, but Chamarri Conner will officially return in Week 4. That said, the Chiefs made a handful of other inactive decisions that aren’t injury-related. They only made one practice squad elevation in Week 4. They have only six players inactive for the game, one fewer than the most possible in a given week. Remember, only 48 players can be active on game day.

Here’s a look at the inactive players for Kansas City and Las Vegas.

Kansas City Chiefs’ inactive players

  • QB Garrett Nussmeier (Emergency 3rd QB)
  • TE Jared Wiley
  • DB Jadon Canady
  • DE Jack Pyburn
  • OT Josh Simmons
  • OT Diego Pounds

Las Vegas Raiders’ inactive players

  • QB Aidan O’Connell
  • CB Darrell Luter Jr
  • S Tristin McCollum
  • OL Jackson Powers-Johnson
  • DT Jonah Laulu

Chiefs sit rookie DB Jadon Canady with Chamarri Conner back in the lineup

There’s one notable difference in the inactive players for the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Kansas City will sit down rookie DB Jadon Canady for the first time this season. The fourth-round draft pick out of the University of Oregon appeared in each of the Chiefs’ first three games.

Canady played one defensive snap in place of L’Jarius Sneed in the slot, and a dozen special teams snaps in Week 3 against the Dolphins. He’s mostly played on special teams through three weeks. This feels like even more evidence that the Chiefs will use S Chamarri Conner in the slot, as DC Steve Spagnuolo indicated this past week. The team will have five safeties active for this game, including UDFA S Xavier Nwankpa.
