The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 22-6 in Week 6 of the 2026 NFL season, moving to a 5-0 record.

The team seemed to play with their food for most of the game. It could’ve been a lot worse for Los Angeles, who simply couldn’t get anything going on offense. It could have been a lot better for Kansas City, who let the Chargers hang around all game. The Arrowhead Stadium crowd was loud and disruptive at key moments, and frankly, they deserve a shoutout as a big winner in this particular game.

With that in mind, let’s break down K.C.’s winners and losers from Week 6.

Winner: Kenneth Walker

The Chiefs might have signed the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year in free agency, and that’s not hyperbole. Walker continues to maintain that pace after the bye week. He could be the first 1,000-yard rusher of the Patrick Mahomes era before Week 10 of the 2026 NFL season. At halftime, he had 10 carries for 75 yards and two rushing touchdowns. He also caught a 6-yard pass. By the end of the game, Walker had 19 carries for 128 yards and two touchdowns and 2 receptions for 11 yards. He’s averaging 10 more touches per game in Kansas City than in Seattle.

Winner: Xavier Worthy

With Tyquan Thornton and Rashee Rice injured, the Chiefs needed a receiver to step up. Xavier Worthy was that guy from the jump. In the first quarter, he caught 4 of 4 passes for 51 yards. He helped open up the rest of the offense with multiple 10-plus-yard gains. He then had a quiet stretch before a 19-yard reception ahead of halftime to set up a 50-yard Harrison Butker field goal that gave Kansas City a six-point lead. He finished with a perfect 100% catch rate and 73 yards.

Winner: LB Jack Cochrane

Cochrane gets a lot of grief from the fanbase because of his past performance, but he’s been very solid on defense this season. The veteran linebacker was in the right place at the right time when Justin Herbert tried to throw a pass, and Ashton Gillotte was around his waist. He picked off a pass and returned it 48 yards. Unfortunately, the Chiefs couldn’t capitalize, but the defense needed that play after a bogus roughing-the-passer call on Gillotte erased an earlier interception by Chris Roland-Wallace.

Winner: DE Ashton Gillotte (and the rest of the pass rush)

Gillotte ended the Chiefs’ sack drought, which lasted through the first half of Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season. It was Kansas City’s longest sack drought since 2008. He was the team’s top defender all day, often getting near Justin Herbert and making him uncomfortable. He got hit with a bad roughing-the-passer call earlier in the game, but he made up for it with the rush that led to Cochrane’s interception. On a day when the team had three sacks, Gillotte was one of only two defenders to have two QB hits. He also recorded a tackle for loss and two combined tackles. Shoutout to the rest of the pass rush, too. Five players had at least a half-sack, and six had at least one QB hit.

Winner: Joshua Ezeudu

Jaylon Moore left the game just ahead of halftime with a concussion. Ezeudu is a newcomer after the Giants traded him to Kansas City during 53-man roster cuts. By my estimation, he filled in nicely at right tackle behind Moore. He didn’t give up any quick pressures and made some nice blocks in the run game for Kenneth Walker. Ezeudu’s name wasn’t called more than once during the game, which is typically a good sign for an offensive lineman. That one call was Kevin Harlan praising him for a block on a first-down run by Kenneth Walker.

Loser: WR Nikko Remigio

Nikko Remigio doesn’t have many fans in Chiefs Kingdom, fair or unfair. He probably didn’t earn many new ones in Week 6. He fumbled a punt return in the third quarter while trying to fight for extra yards on a play where he could’ve just gone down. On the ensuing punt return, Kristian Fulton was thrown into Remigio after he called a fair catch, and he caught the ball while falling down. Dave Toub has always said his strength was his ability to field returns, but his decision-making simply wasn’t there today.

Loser: DB Chris Roland-Wallace

Never mind how silly it is to throw a punch at someone who has a helmet on; Roland-Wallace’s ejection served absolutely no purpose. I get that he was mad that Chargers OL Alex Harkey pushed him in the back after the whistle blew. All he did was make life harder for his teammates and Steve Spagnuolo by getting himself tossed from the game. He’s an important player, and the game was close enough that the decision really could’ve hurt the team. He will also face a hefty NFL fine for the decision.

Loser: K Harrison Butker

Butker has simply not been the same consistent kicker of years past. The veteran has been in a steady decline, and he added two more misses to his resume in Week 6 against the Chargers. He missed an extra point on the team’s first touchdown, just a little wide left. In the second half, he missed a 52-yard field goal slightly wide right. That’s not an easy one to make, but it’s within his range. He made a 50-yarder earlier in the game.
