The Kansas City Chiefs may have to finish their Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Chargers without starting RT Jaylon Moore.

Moore didn’t play during the final drive of the first half, with about 25 seconds left for the offense to get into field goal range. Instead, Joshua Ezeudu, whom the team traded for ahead of 53-man roster cuts, took the field at right tackle in the starting lineup.

The Chiefs announced during halftime that Moore is in the NFL’s concussion protocol. When the offense took the field after halftime, Ezeudu was still the starter at right tackle. Ezeudu is the Chiefs’ most experienced backup offensive tackle. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound O-Lineman played in 33 games with 10 starts for the New York Giants from 2022-2025. He mostly played left tackle and left guard, but also played right tackle and right guard during the 2026 NFL preseason. Ezeudu missed the entire 2025 NFL season with a calf injury.

Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 6 injury situation bears monitoring

Injuries were a concern for Kansas City in the first half. Travis Kelce had his ankle taped twice. Nohl Williams briefly left the game with what looked like a shoulder injury. Both players seem to be toughing out whatever ailments they’re dealing with. Moore was the first player to exit the game with an injury.

Keep in mind, the Chiefs don’t have much depth at offensive tackle to lean on in this game. Kahlil Benson and Joshua Ezeudu are the only tackles left, with Josh Simmons ruled out ahead of the game and Diego Pounds inactive. One thing you won’t see? Plays with the offensive tackle declaring eligible. They run those with Moore knowing he’ll have to come out for a play, and Ezeudu can replace him.
