The Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Commanders completed their second practices of the week in preparation for their Monday Night Football matchup.

The Chiefs had two players see an uptick in their practice statuses on Friday, but one key starter remained sidelined. Washington returned several guys after they missed Thursday’s practice, but also have a key starter who sat continued to sit out on Friday. Let’s examine each team’s full injury reports.

Observations:

  • As expected, the Commanders were just resting Cosmi on Thursday, as he returned and fully participated in practice on Friday.
  • Payne missed Thursday’s practice for rest, but missed on Friday due to a toe injury. His practice status on Saturday will be crucial in determining if he’ll play on Monday night. It would be a big blow for Washington to be without the former Pro Bowl DT.
  • Yankoff popped up on the injury report on Friday with a hamstring injury. He has not recorded a catch this season.
  • Starting WRs McLaurin and Samuel fully practiced for the second consecutive day, signaling that they’ll be good to go on Monday night.

Observations:

  • It appears we are heading toward Simmons missing his third straight game as he continues to deal with what coach Andy Reid described as a family matter.
  • Smith missed practice for the second consecutive day with back spasms. If he’s able to practice in any fashion on Saturday, he will have a shot to play on Monday night.
  • Hunt returned to practice on Friday after sitting out Thursday’s with a bone bruise in his knee, putting him on track to suit up Monday night.
  • After being limited on Thursday, Watson was a full participant on Friday and should be fine moving forward barring a setback.
