Las Vegas Raiders just made the decision to travel during training camp to have a joint practice with an AFC foe
The Las Vegas Raiders are going to need all the improvement they can get, and playing against the Texans could help a ton.
Not only do the Las Vegas Raiders have a tough regular-season schedule, but they will also have a good preseason schedule.
The Raiders are set to host the Arizona Cardinals for the first preseason game. This is their second year playing Arizona in the preseason. Then they head to Houston, Texas, to play the Texans. After that, they finish up their preseason with a game at home against the San Francisco 49ers. They also play the 49ers in the regular season in the Bay Area, their first time playing back there since leaving Oakland.
The preseason is so important because this is where the Raiders will truly find out who their 3 players will be. They go from 90 to 53 by the time the last preseason game is done. The teams they are set to play in the preseason have many talented players at the end of their depth charts. But what’s just as important? Training camp, and the Raiders have vowed to put in some extra work.
Raiders to have a joint practice during training camp
According to Jonathan Alexander of the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Texans are not only having a joint practice with the Carolina Panthers, but also the Las Vegas Raiders ahead of the preseason game on Aug. 20. This can only help a young team like the Raiders.
The Texans are going to have maybe the very best defense in football next year. Not to mention, their offense could be solid, too. This is the perfect kind of work that Vegas needs.
They will be traveling to Houston. And that’s a great thing. It gives them a chance to get away from the facilities, wherever they are having training camp. That allows the team a chance to do something different. When you do the same thing every day against the same guys, it can be easy to lose focus. This is usually when we see teams take it out on one another. No, they will get to take it out on Houston.
