The Minnesota Vikings are firmly entrenched in the offseason program, having just passed rookie minicamp. OTAs are the next step for the 2026 Vikings, and the rookie class is going to be the major focus.

The nine NFL Draft selections, headlined by defensive tackle Caleb Banks, are going to get the majority of the attention, and rightfully so. However much attention they get is justified, but they are nearly 100% guaranteed to make the roster, especially those selected in rounds 1-5.

The Vikings’ undrafted free agents are an interesting group of players. They signed 19 players right out of the draft, and have already moved on from multiple of them. They didn’t hold back in giving out guaranteed money, with Over The Cap giving us the information.

Overall, the Vikings gave out a whopping $1,408,000 in guaranteed money. Three players got $247,500 in fully guaranteed money, which is one year’s worth of practice squad salary. Essentially, Bell, Goodwine, and Leigh are all players the Vikings expect to make the practice squad. If any of those players who got guaranteed salaries end up being cut will be offset when they play for other teams in 2026.

Now, the amount of money that the Vikings guaranteed players as undrafted free agents isn’t any kind of guarantee about a roster or practice squad spot. They still need to earn it during the offseason and training camp. Those battles will be important for the success of the 2026 Vikings.
