Bill Belichick has switched his New England Patriots hoodie for a University of Washington one.
The future Hall of Fame coach was pictured at the University of Washington on Friday, serving as a the keynote speaker at the “Be a P.R.O Coaching Clinic.”
And he wasted no time putting on the purple hat.
Bill Belichick's presence at Washington comes after his son and former Patriots linebacker coach Steve Belichick took a job there as the defensive coordinator.
Steve Belichick had been with the New England Patriots since 2012 and most recently served as the outside linebackers coach. While the team didn't name an official defensive coordinator for the past few years, it has been Steve Belichick who has made the calls during games.
The two were reportedly offered jobs by new head coach Jerod Mayo, but only Brian Belichick elected to remain in Foxborough. This was an interesting move considering how close Mayo and Steve Belichick were, having worked closely while sharing the duties as defensive coordinator last season. Mayo was in charge of running the meetings, but it was Steve who called the plays.
While Mayo did offer the two Belichick sons jobs, the exact positions at the time were unknown. And it came after they had promoted DeMarcus Covington to defensive coordinator.
So along with losing Bill Belichick, the team lost Steve Belichick.
But the father-son duo are already showing support for one another at Steve's new job. Now we just have to see what happens with Bill Belichick next year.
