Drake Maye refers to himself as a "poor man’s Jayson Tatum.” And on Tuesday night, he got to see the real Boston Celtics star in action.

The Patriots quarterback was in for a treat, as the Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers in the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals in an epic way.

As he was leaving the game, Maye had a simple, but perfect reaction.

"That was pretty sweet," he told MassLive's Karen Guregian.

The Celtics got out to an early lead, but the Pacers were persistent. And when the clock was winding down in the fourth quarter, all signs pointed to them claiming the win in the first game.

However, Jaylen Brown made a clutch three with just over five seconds remaining to tied it up and the solid Celtics defense forced overtime.

When the additional five minutes began, Jayson Tatum saw how Brown had kept the team alive and knew he had to be the one to finish it.

Tatum finished with a team high 36 points and three steals, while Jrue Holiday had 28 points and three steals along with Brown's 26 points and three steals.

Celtics fans were beyond excited to see the new Patriots quarterback at TD Garden on Tuesday night. And they lined up, looking to get photos and autographs from Maye.

And he got his moment on the jumbotron.

Prior to the game, Maye also took a moment to meet Tatum and was even gifted a signed jersey by the forward.

So maybe Maye is the Celtics' good luck charm. They might want to invite him to some more games this series.

But Maye got to see a game to remember. So hopefully that will give him a small taste of the winning mentality and he can bring that back to the Patriots.
