The New England Patriots made a series of roster moves on Tuesday.

Along with placing DT Daniel Ekuale on injured reserve, the Patriots have released cornerback William Hooper from the practice squad.

Hooper signed with the Patriots on Sept. 13, but it was clear that it wasn't the right fit.

Hooper, 23, originally signed with the Packers after going undrafted. He spent his college career playing with the FCS-level Northwestern State. During his collegiate career, Hooper amassed three interceptions, 100 tackles, and 21 pass breakups over 46 career games. The impressive stats earned him Southland all-conference second team in 2022.

The newly-acquired cornerback, outside of the Packers, earned an invite from the division rival Buffalo Bills as well.

This move might be in relation to Ekuale's season-ending injury, allowing the Patriots to free up a spot for a potential defensive lineman.
