2 winners and 7 losers from Philadelphia’s embarrassing showing on MNF: Eagles players just quit on Nick Sirianni and the season

The Philadelphia Eagles were run off their own field by the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. A couple of players gave the team something to build on, and a long list of others gave Philadelphia plenty to worry about.

The Philadelphia Eagles just suffered one of the most embarrassing losses of the Nick Sirianni era. The Dallas Cowboys came into Lincoln Financial Field on Monday Night Football and blew the Eagles out at home, and it wasn’t close for most of the night.

The truth is, this might be the beginning of the end for Sirianni and this version of the Eagles. But before we get there, let’s break down the winners and losers from a performance Philadelphia would like to forget.

Eagles Winners vs. Cowboys on MNF

Wide receiver Makai Lemon

Wide receiver Makai Lemon was the Eagles’ leading receiver on the night and found the end zone for a touchdown. He showed some of what he can do over the middle of the field, even though he didn’t get many opportunities because of the quarterback play (more on that in a moment).

For one of the few times this season, Lemon flashed why the Eagles took him in the first round.

Guard Landon Dickerson

Landon Dickerson is the second and final winner, which tells you the kind of night it was for Philadelphia. Still, you could feel his impact in the run game with his return to the lineup.

When the Eagles were still in the game, the offense flowed through the ground attack, and much of that came off the left side with Dickerson and Jordan Mailata leading the way.

Eagles Losers vs. Cowboys on MNF

Quarterback Tanner McKee

I wouldn’t be surprised if Joe Milton is the Eagles’ starting quarterback next week. That’s how bad the Tanner McKee experience has been.

McKee was flustered for most of the night and struggled to push the ball downfield at all. His late interception was a Philly cheesesteak with extra wiz thrown to the flat. It was a horrible decision and a horrible throw, and it ended any chance of a comeback.

Tanner McKee stats vs. Cowboys

  • 23/35 passing
  • 211 passing yards
  • 1 TD
  • 1 INT
  • 2 sacks taken

Defensive tackles Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis

The defense is the real concern, starting with Jalen Carter. He finished with no sacks. Philadelphia just paid Carter nearly $40 million a year, and it certainly wasn’t for that performance.

Jordan Davis falls into the exact same category. The Eagles allowed over 200 rushing yards, and Davis is supposed to be a two-gap, nose-plugging presence in the middle. He did none of that against Dallas.

Cornerbacks Cooper DeJean and Tariq Woolen

Cooper DeJean was supposed to be one of the bright spots for the Eagles coming into the season. Instead, he’s had a horrible 2026 campaign, and he’s cost himself a lot of money. The Cowboys targeted him one-on-one against CeeDee Lamb, and DeJean gave up a touchdown. He has allowed multiple touchdowns this season and doesn’t look like the same player.

Tariq Woolen, meanwhile, looks like a horrible offseason addition. Lamb torched him all night, and the Cowboys kept targeting him. For whatever reason, Philadelphia continued to leave Woolen on an island.

Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio

That brings us to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. He had nine of his 11 starters healthy, and it was still a game of pitch-and-catch for Dallas.

This is the same Cowboys offense that struggled against Tampa Bay and the Green Bay Packers. Against the Eagles, Dallas racked up more than 400 total yards and nearly 40 points. The Cowboys did whatever they wanted on the ground and through the air, and Fangio had no answers. He looked beside himself all night and couldn’t find a call that worked.

Head coach Nick Sirianni

This all goes back to Eagles coach Nick Sirianni. Let’s be honest: Philadelphia quit in the fourth quarter. The Eagles didn’t look like a team willing to make even an effort at a comeback. They looked like a team that had given up.

Saquon Barkley was the only player still fighting to get back into the game, and he could barely walk because of an injury. Meanwhile, the Eagles watched a $40 million player like Carter fail to make plays, DeJean look like he was still on vacation, and Davis failed to stop the run while Dallas found wide-open holes on the ground.

It was a horrible performance from top to bottom, and an embarrassment at home on Monday Night Football. That starts with Sirianni, and if things don’t change in a hurry, the questions about his future in Philadelphia are only going to get louder.
