Steelers make an under-the-radar addition on the defensive side of the ball after re-signing a familiar face at linebacker
The Pittsburgh Steelers are making moves ahead of training camp, and their latest has Pittsburgh reuniting with a familiar face on the defensive side of the ball.
While the Pittsburgh Steelers are away on summer vacation, the business of the NFL doesn’t stop. General Manager Omar Khan and Head Coach Mike McCarthy are still trying to assemble the best 90-man roster possible ahead of training camp, and that often means calling upon familiar faces.
Pittsburgh’s latest addition is just that.

Steelers re-sign LB Jacoby Windmon for third stint
Windmon first joined the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State in 2024. The linebacker has played both off-ball as a staced player, and on the EDGE, as a pass rusher.
Between his stints in Pittsburgh, Windmon has been busy. After the Carolina Panthers poached him off the Steelers’ practice squad, he made his way to the UFL, most recently playing for the Columbus Aviators.
Windmon was recently invited to the Steelers’ rookie minicamp as a veteran tryout, and now he returns for his third stint in as many seasons, with a chance to make the roster in a relatively thin group behind the headliners at both stacked backer and on the EDGE.
