The Seattle Seahawks offense had a complete makeover this offseason.

One of the most drastic changes was the team's choice to trade away Geno Smith and sign Sam Darnold to be their newest starting quarterback. After giving Darnold a massive contract, the team must do everything in their power to build a roster to help him succeed. And in a new A to Z Sports 2025 NFL mock draft, they give him what he needs most.

"If Simmons wasn’t coming off of an injury, we would probably be talking about him as a potential top 10 selection. Seattle has multiple needs along the offensive line, so finding value with Simmons is a big deal."

New A to Z Sports mock draft

Of all the tackles in this class, Josh Simmons' tape in 2024 was arguably the best. He only played six games before suffering a season-ending knee injury. But he dominated at LT for the Buckeyes and will likely be high on team boards looking for a starting tackle. He spent time at both right and left tackle in college, most recently playing on the left side.

For the Seahawks, they already have Charles Cross at LT and he has been fantastic to start his career. So Simmons would probably be penciled in as the starting RT, and the team could attempt to move Abraham Lucas inside to guard. Improving their offensive line will help to get the most out of Darnold, who, though he had an incredible season with the Minnesota Vikings, still struggles under pressure. Give him a clean pocket to work with, though, and he has shown the ability to make the right read and make defenses pay.
