The Commanders showed who they really are after embarrassing loss to the Vikings with many depressing headlines
The Commanders need a real answer after getting blown out by the Vikings.
The Washington Commanders looked like they were finally getting things figured out after going toe-to-toe with the Denver Broncos last week, and had a great opportunity this week with players getting healthy.
They were finally getting back quarterback Jayden Daniels, who hasn’t played with Terry McLaurin since Week 2. This was supposed to be the game where we finally saw who this team was, and we did, just not in the way we hoped.
The Commanders got dominated on defense again, and Jayden Daniels left the game early after a hard hit, hitting a new low point on the season.
Commanders’ nightmare season continues, and they’re just a bad team
We were wrong about this team over the last three weeks. It looked like the best was ahead, until it took a plunge again today. Head coach Dan Quinn gave a motivational speech about how the team lost, but isn’t lost anymore, and that turned out to be a lie. The Commanders didn’t just lose to a bad team Sunday; they got blown out and hit a new low.
The defense is back to being the worst in the league, and everything needs to be torn down and rebuilt with a new defensive coordinator and so many new players. The Vikings didn’t score a touchdown on 22 straight possessions heading into the game, but they scored on their first two drives, totaling 31 points and four touchdowns on the day.
J.J. McCarthy has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the league this season, and he had his easiest game against the Commanders.
The defense, again the worst in the league, wasn’t even the low point of the game. The nightmare continued when Daniels went down hard on his injured arm again and didn’t return to the game.
Jayden Daniels leaves injured once again
Daniels missed the last four weeks after dislocating his elbow, and we honestly didn’t know if we would see him again. He rehabbed and got cleared to play, and the team stressed the importance of him playing again to finish the year.
Sadly, it only took two and a half quarters for him to get hurt again. Daniels threw an interception and tried to make a play afterwards, but he got blown up instead and went down hard on his injured arm.
Daniels looked out of it the entire game and was visibly upset after leaving, and the team might need to have a real conversation now about shutting him down for the season. Doing more mental and physical damage isn’t worth it for him to get reps with the team anymore, given how everyone is playing right now.
There needs to be a lot of tough conversations this week after the team was shut out for the first time since 2019, and fans are understandably upset with how the team continues to disappoint.
