It’s time for Brandon Aiyuk to put the millions of dollars he’s losing where his mouth is and end the saga with the 49ers
There’s only one way for Brandon Aiyuk to get what he wants and it all starts with him. Yet, he continues to lash out and blame others for whatever reason.
The Brandon Aiyuk saga is exhausting. Even if there’s hardly anything else to talk about at this point in the offseason.
Aiyuk has called out just about everyone on the San Francisco 49ers at this point, in striking detail, and he also fired his agent a few days ago. Now, his attention has turned to the NFL Players Association. On Sunday, he accused sections of the organization for conspiring with the 49ers and withholding important information that could help him with his current “ordeal”.
“When members of the union that is in place to help players is lying/withholding information from a player on behalf of the team alongside a certified agent.. That’s some straight BS!!!,” Aiyuk posted on Instagram.
“Some players have no other place to go for information or help, and are relying on the union to help them continue advancing in their careers and lives! I’m sure there are great members of the union, so this message does not pertain to them but about the ones in my specific case.”
It’s just another case of finger-pointing and a lack of accountability on Aiyuk’s end and it’s about time he changes his tune or just shuts up, altogether.
Nothing changes until Brandon Aiyuk, himself, files for reinstatement
This whole situation is both ignorant and weird. Aiyuk has done nothing but run his mouth and lose millions of dollars while blaming everyone else and riling folks up, despite the fact it’s he himself that has to file for reinstatement for the league in order to get his release or trade in motion.
The 49ers placed him on the Reserve/Left Squad list, which is what kicked all this off. They can leave him on said list as long as he isn’t doing anything about it.
Which news flash – he isn’t.
And he’s even said himself he’s not stepping foot in the 49ers’ building until they play the Commanders in Week 6, which is truly bonkers. That implies Aiyuk doesn’t plan on reapplying for reinstatement, because if he does eventually do that, all he has to do is show up to the 49ers’ facility and then the 9ers then have a small window to decide whether or not they want to release him, trade him, or keep him.
That’s it. That’s all Aiyuk has to do. If he wants out so bad and has been treated so unfairly, then why isn’t he taking on the simple task of filing the correct paperwork and getting the ball rolling?
It’s because he’s immature and he lacks both accountability and responsibility. I mean, the dude is currently on the East Coast because he has a warrant out for his arrest in California and he doesn’t want to get arrested. That should tell you all you need to know. He’s basically on the run, right now.
All Aiyuk is doing is talking, talking, and talking. And losing millions in the process. Not only through his contract with the 49ers, but with any future contract he might receive from another team.
It’s time for him to stop throwing money on the ground and put it where his mouth in all of this. You want to move on and go to another team? OK, file the damn paperwork and then you can start actually moving toward that goal.
But, sure. I guess another Instagram post will fix things! Because it’s worked so well, already!
It’s truly one of the most bizarre and illogical approaches ever seen in the NFL, before. And for the last time, nothing will change until Aiyuk actually gets up and does something about it.
