Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was carted off the field in Dallas at the end of the first half after suffering an apparent elbow injury.

The injury occurred on a play where Daniels was tripped by his own offensive lineman. Daniels was ruled out for the game in the third quarter.

Jayden Daniels’ injury history adds concern

Daniels, who already has injury history in the NFL, hurt his elbow at one of the most inopportune times of the game. The injury appeared to be to his non-throwing arm, though the severity remains unknown.

There will be significant speculation surrounding coach Dan Quinn’s choice to go for it on fourth down instead of taking the field goal. A field goal attempt would have kept Daniels off the field and prevented the play from happening altogether.

Quinn has an aggressive nature as a head coach when it comes to fourth down and running traditional football risk.
