The Houston Astros travel to take on the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night. The Houston Astros come in red hot and will give Jake Odorizzi the ball. He has a 1-3 record and a 5.68 ERA. Keegan Akin will take the mound for the Baltimore Orioles and has a 0-2 record with a 5.76 ERA. The Astros winning streak has been sparked by their bats and that should continue in this game.
The Pick: Astros ML (-162)
The Why: Astros’ Bats
This Astors offense has been really good all season. In their four game sweep against the White Sox, the Astros outscored them 27-8. They come into this game ranked first in runs, hits and batting average. Jose Altuve is having another good season hitting for .296, 16 HRs and 74 hits. Of all of their starters, eight of them are hitting over .250 on the year. Ordorizzi has had a rough year but in his last starts against the Red Sox, he held the Red Sox to only three hits and got the win.
In Keegan Akin’s last four starts, the Orioles have wonky won one and he gave up 12 runs in those starts. The Astros lineup should be able to get to this left handed pitcher early and often. They are hitting for .287 against lefties and in their last game against a lefty, they tagged Dallas Keuchel for seven hits and three runs in 2.2 innings pitched.
We’re going to lay the price and take the Astros on the ML. The Orioles are on of the worst teams in the league and hold a 12-23 record at home. Neither team has a great pitcher throwing, but I trust Ordorizzi a lot more than I do Akin against Jose Altuve and the best offense in the league.
Trends We’re Betting On
Astros are 7-0 SU in the last 7 games
Astros are 16-4 SU in the last 20 against the Orioles
Orioles are 1-10 SU in the last 11 games
Yesterday’s Pick: Red Sox ML ❌
Im serious…I feel a good stretch coming up.
