It has been a back and forth series in the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets series through four games. The Brooklyn Nets took the first two at home in dominant fashion, but the Milwaukee Bucks have taken the last two. Points have been at a premium in the four games, and that should continue tonight with Kevin Durant being the lone star playing for the Nets.

The Pick: Nets/Bucks Under 219.5 (-110)

The Why: Injuries and Shooting

The Nets are expected to be without James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Harden injured his hamstring in the opening minute of game one and Irving went out in the first half of game four with a sprained ankle. Obviously, these are two major losses for the Nets and it makes it hard for the Nets reach their potential on the offensive end. Kevin Durant will be forced to carry the scoring load for the Nets, but he is not a player that can get others going. P.J. Tucker has played good defense the last two game on Kevin Durant, but he is still going to get his. He tends to take shots late in the shot clock which is good for us.

The shooting has not been great for both teams in recent games. In the series, the Nets have shot 44.7% from the field and 37% from three. The Bucks have shot 42.7% from the field and 26.7% from three. With the stars out for the Nets there’s no reason to expect a high shooting performance. Most of the Nets best three-point shooters get wide open looks because of penetration and kick outs by Harden and Irving. They will not get those open looks tonight. The Bucks were awful offensively in the two games in Brooklyn this series and there’s not reason to expect them to be better.

We’re taking the under in this game. I expect this game to be played at a slower pace because the Nets won’t want to get the Bucks playing fast, and the Bucks will be looking to attack the thin Nets backcourt. If the trends hold up, this should be a very boring game that is a scrapper.

Trends We’re Betting On

The under is 4-0 this series

The under is has cashed in 7 of the last 10 in the series

Total has gone under in 5 of the last 6 for the Bucks

Total has gone under in 5 of the last 5 for the Nets

The under is 6-0 in the last 6 when the Nets are an underdog

Yesterday’s Pick: 76ers -3 ❌

We have had some of the worst luck recently. Sunday it was Kyrie Irving going out with an injury, and yesterday it was Joel Embiid not having a great game and the 76ers blowing a 13 point halftime lead. Super frustrating, but we’ll pick ourselves up off the mat and get back at it.
