The Los Angeles Dodgers travel down too Miami to take on the Miami Marlins. The Miami Marlins will send Trevor Rogers to the mound. He has a 7-5 record and a 2.14 ERA. Walker Buehler will get the ball for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has an 8-1 record and a 2.35 ERA. Starting pitching for both teams has been great all season, but we can only trust one of these offenses to score consistently.
The Pick: Dodgers ML
The Why: Dodger Bats
The Dodgers bats have been on fire over the last week. They have won nine straight games and have scored 5.6 runs during those games. On the year, they have scored an average of 5.10 runs and game which ranks fourth in MLB. The Dodgers have a very eep lineup but have been led by Josh Turner and Mookie Betts. Turner is hitting .295 and has an OPS of .872. Mookie Betts is hitting .247 and an OPS of .810.
The story of the Marlins season is that they have had great pitching but their offense can never get going. They have the fifth best ERA in MLB but rank 27th in runs scored. I have a hard time believing that they’re going to be able to score enough runs on the Dodgers to win. The Dodgers pitching staff ranks first in ERA in MLB. Walker Buehler should be able to have a very strong start against a bad Marlins lineup.
We’re rolling with the Dodgers in this game. They are probably the best baseball in the league. At the end of the day, it’s hard to trust the Marlins bats to score enough runs to beat a red-hot Dodgers team and lineup. The Marlins have lost the last three games that Trevor Rogers has pitched. Take the Dodgers.
