The Buckeyes have received three commitments recently between five-star S Blaine Bradford, four-star S Simeon Caldwell, and three-star LB CJ Sanna.
Now, the Buckeyes are expected to make a splash on offense at some point soon and they’re predicted to land one of their running back targets.
2026 four-star RB Carsyn Baker trending to Ohio State over Clemson and others
On3’s Steve Wiltfong put a prediction in for the Buckeyes to land four-star Langston Hughes (GA) RB Carsyn Baker on Wednesday. The Buckeyes are battling Clemson, Florida State, and South Carolina, but look to be in the driver's seat of this recruitment.
Baker was in Columbus early week once again to visit with the staff and take in a practice. Running backs coach Carlos Locklyn has targeted multiple running backs in the class of 2026 and Baker is one of those. According to 247 Sports Composite, Baker is the No. 14 running back in the country and No. 175 in the national rankings.
At 6-foot and 195 pounds, Baker has piled up north of 50 offers and brings legit speed to the field. A track and field athlete who ran a 10.65 100-yard dash.
Ohio State doesn’t yet have a running back committed out of their 10 commitments but that will soon change. Savion Hiter, Derrek Cooper, and Favour Akih are other running backs the Buckeyes are recurring as well. Akih is an in-state player who could pull the trigger at any time to commit. It is between Ohio State and Miami for Akih.
Locklyn has done a tremendous job on the field coaching and on the trail recruiting since coming to Ohio State from Oregon. It appears as if he is on the brink of a new addition.
