For years, Michigan Wolverines superstar defensive tackle Mason Graham wrecked the Ohio State Buckeyes, going 3-0 against Michigan's bitter rival and producing several highlight reel plays along the way.
Now, however, he goes behind enemy lines, as Graham was selected fifth overall by the Cleveland Browns.
NFL Network's Rich Eisen summed it up best:
"In all honesty, the most important trait anybody from Cleveland wants to have in a Brown is someone who knows how to win in the state of Ohio."
Graham brings a disruptive presence at the three-technique to help crush opposing offenses after years of doing it for the Wolverines. Graham is the best defensive tackle in this class and one of the best in recent memory, thanks to his elite competitive toughness, leverage, awareness, quickness, and very good play strength, agility, and use of hands.
Evidently, the Browns didn't have any problems with the arm length or the lack of testing from Graham, which makes sense because the film has always been dominant. The Browns saw it often enough in The Game, where Graham put up multiple sacks and dominated up front.
The Browns passed on Travis Hunter to select Graham, which should be a testament to how they view how dominant he can be.
Interestingly enough, it seems like Mason Graham was handpicked by none other than Cleveland Browns superstar Myles Garrett to join the team.
That should make the Browns very happy with the way this one turned out. Garrett and Graham are capable of being one of the best defensive duos in the NFL for the next several years and completely change the face of their defense. Their defense should be one of the best in the league once again with Graham coming in.
