The Florida Gators have had a complicated recruiting cycle for the 2026 class. They have already had three players decommit, including two of them in the defensive backfield.
Head coach Billy Napier took a positive step this week in the secondary after their huge recruiting event when he landed the commitment of four-star safety Kaiden Hall. The 2026 class has four commitments so far, and that list is set to continue growing.
Florida Gators land crucial expert prediction
One of their top targets is former LSU Tigers commit four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy. After visiting over the weekend when the Gators had their first big recruiting event, they logged an expert prediction from On3 Sports' Steve Wiltfong.
This is huge for the Gators, especially since they've made McCoy such a priority during the recruiting cycle. He is currently the number 17 defensive lineman and 163rd overall recruit per the On3 Sports Industry Ranking and played in the Under Armour All-America Game this past January, which is a big deal for a recruit.
Things aren't over for McCoy's recruitment either. The other two on his top three schools are LSU and Texas, and McCoy has three official visits still on the schedule.
- Texas: June 6th
- Ole Miss: June 13th
- LSU: June 20th
If the Gators can get McCoy to commit before going to Austin this upcoming weekend, it could go a long way for Napier to continue building up his recruiting class.
