Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are already building a monster of a recruiting class for 2026, and with a few more wins could lock in the top overall class in all of college football. That's where yet another five star recruiting target comes in.
Georgia is hosting several blue chip talents on official visits this week, but none are more important than five star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, who opened up and share some positive words on his relationship with the program this week.
Tyler Atkinson, Elite Five Star LB Recruit
Tyler Atkinson has been considered a consensus five star for years now. He's racked up nearly 500 tackles in his first three years of high school football action, including over 30 sacks. Around 50 top college football programs have offered him, but Atkinson is clearly only leaning towards a few different schools–Georgia being one of them.
For those familiar with Atkinson's recruitment, Kirby Smart has been chasing after him hard. From helicopter rides to his Friday night games, to sending all kinds of staff to visit with him individually well over a dozen times throughout this process, Georgia has made it clear Atkinson is a priority.
Atkinson is visiting Georgia yet again this weekend on his final official visit, and made it clear how he feels about the Bulldogs ahead of it. It's clear Georgia holds a special place in his heart given all his interactions with the program:
"It feels like I grew up at Georgia because of all the camps and visits I've been to over the years since I was younger."
Tyler Atkinson has seriously had dozens of touch points with various Georgia staff dating back to his earliest high school days (and even before that). He plays his high school football less than an hour away from Athens. Georgia continues to send linebackers on to the NFL Draft a high rate with talents like Jalon Walker, Smael Mondon, Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker, and Channing Tindall in the last four years alone.
There are far too many reasons for Atkinson to end up choosing Georgia. If this final visit goes well, Georgia fans might be looking at yet another five star commit for their favorite team here soon.
