The Florida Gators have an emerging superstar in quarterback DJ Lagway. After a great end of season run by Lagway, where he had a 6-1 record as a starter, the 2025 season is set to be a massive breakout for the Gators.
On the field, Lagway is a menace, able to attack you with his elite arm talent with the added aspect of his mobility. he isn't just great on the field, as Lagway is making a difference off of it as well.
DJ Lagway makes major donation
If you want to be a legend at Florida, it isn't just about what you do on the field, off of it matters as well. Lagway is taking that to heart and put his money where his mouth is. He made a six-figure donation on International Women's Day to the university's collective Florida Victorious with the intention of it going to the women sports programs.
It's quite the donation from Lagway, who has NIL deals with the likes of Gatorade and Nintendo. His current NIL evaluation from On3 Sports is $3.8 million, which gives Lagway the ability to do these things.
Earlier this year, Lagway announced the DJ Lagway Foundation and partnered with UF Health to work on making a difference in the health of the youth.
“Football has given me so much, and NIL has opened doors I could never have imagined. Now, I want to use those opportunities to pay it forward,” said Lagway. “Partnering with UF Health allows me to give back in a way that directly makes a positive impact on the community.”
It's a pretty impressive thing for Lagway to do all of these things as a true freshman. Pair that with the on-field abilities and he's well on his way to becoming a legend in more ways than one at the University of Florida.
