The Florida State Seminoles are trying to piece together a successful 2025 season after having their worst season since the 1970s. But, while the primary focus is on 2025, that doesn't mean they can't prepare for 2026 at the same time.

So far their 2026 class is coming along well. They currently have the 12th overall class with seven players committed, five of them being four-star players and one of them a three-star. And, that could only get better soon, as they are on a ton of kids' lists and even in their top 10.

One of them is just right down the road, and he is extremely interested in going to Florida State, as the Seminoles are in his top 10.

Seminoles land in 2026 EDGE Trenton Henderson top 10

Trenton Henderson is one of the best players in the country, and he just so happens to be from down the road, from Pensacola Catholic High School in Florida, part of the Class of 2026. He’s a four-star defensive end/edge rusher, ranked highly by recruiting sites like On3 (No. 29 nationally) and 247Sports (No. 91 nationally). At 6’4” and 225 pounds, he’s big, fast, and strong, with room to grow, too.

In his 2024 junior season, Henderson had 90 tackles, 45 of them solo, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 12 games, according to MaxPreps. He’s also a basketball player at Pensacola Catholic.

Colleges are after him, with 19 offers from schools like Auburn, Alabama, Florida State, Miami, and Florida. Florida State and Auburn are leading contenders after his January 2025 visits. He has the potential to be a college star and maybe an NFL prospect someday. He’s looking for a school that feels right and will help him grow as a player.

What better than to go down the road to Tallahassee, where the Seminoles just produced the NFL's Rookie Defensive Player of the Year in Los Angeles Rams edge rusher Jared Verse?
