The Florida State Seminoles have been on a hot streak with some of their recruiting lately, and this comes after their worst season since the 1970s, where in 2024 they won just two games. The Noles are still pushing through, hoping to get some pretty elite players.

Their 2025 class is pretty good, as it sits at 20th entering the 2025 spring offseason. Their 2024 class finished at 12th best in the country, which is important to note because the Seminoles will have those players start to see some more playing time in the 2025 season.

And their 2026 class, even though it's early, sits at 12th with just seven players committed. And, they could be adding another one that soon, as they are already in another elite player's top 12 list, and he's just right down the road in Orlando, Florida.

Seminoles land in the top 12 for 2026 EDGE Jake Kreul

Jake Kreul, a standout four-star edge rusher from the Class of 2026, currently plays for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Hailing from Orlando, he transferred to IMG after his sophomore year in 2024 from Bishop Moore Catholic High School, seeking tougher competition to sharpen his skills. And, this is what a lot of the best players in the country do — go to IMG. Standing at 6’3” and weighing between 230 and 235 pounds, Kreul has the physical build and power ideal for his role on the field.

During his 2023 sophomore season at Bishop Moore, he racked up an impressive 76 tackles, including 34 for a loss, along with 17 sacks and two forced fumbles. After moving to IMG in 2024, he continued to shine, delivering impactful performances. Beyond football, Kreul also hits the basketball court, where he hones his agility, footwork, and coordination—skills that translate seamlessly to the football field, and will only help him with some of his techniques when rushing the passer.

College scouts have taken notice, as he has more than 40 offers from elite programs such as Ohio State, Florida State, Oklahoma, Miami, and Clemson. According to 247Sports, he ranks No. 35 overall in the nation and No. 4 among edge rushers in his class. Recently, he narrowed his options to a dozen schools and took trips to campuses like Oklahoma and Florida. Florida State seems to be a school that would be interested.

When you look at the history of FSU, just this last year the Los Angeles Rams drafted two defensive linemen from Florida State, one of them being Jared Verse, who is the Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Kreul could see some of that development.
